You can already do that from Link > File. And the block that holds this button or link can be hidden for non-members and shown for members, using the Membership functionality

Bogdan Condurache: My use case is using global templates for a course dashboard. For individual topics, I want to use the custom fields to set a file to download. But there's no 'file' custom field for assets. So impossible to load files dynamically - like Kajabi/Teachable style dashboard, where each lesson can have it's own resource to download.

So a regular link doesn't work, because the block is global, hence dynamic + cf is needed.
